Course Description

Airspace planning and analysis engages many academic and technical disciplines spread across a vast array of activities to ensure the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System and international air commerce. This course presents a structured presentation of how regulatory and economic determinants affect the structure of the world's airspace, how to identify and make recommendations to perceived and actual airspace challenges, and what simulated models and tools are available to address these challenges. This course is designed for a multi-disciplinary audience and does not require an aviation background to understand the concepts presented.

  • Apply concepts learned throughout this course towards evaluating individual airspace management processes and needs.
  • Provide opportunities for each student to meet with other professionals working within the aviation environment.
